Mackenzie’s rare ability to craft work that is funny, fun and visually artful comes with a tragic downside.
Unfortunately Mackenzie finds it difficult to walk on account of all the accolades he is collecting. He picked up a Cannes Silver Lion for his 2023 spot for Nike; the Cannes Young Director Award in both 2015 and 2016; Ciclope Silver, AICP Gold and a British Arrow for his 2019 work for Guinness; 35 million views for his seven-part ‘Visit Earth’ series created with Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam in 2020; and Gold for Best Director at both Ciclope (2022) and Spikes Asia (2023) as well as Finalist at Adfest 2023 for his work for Nike via Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo.
A Canadian who grew up and currently resides in Japan, Mackenzie brings the best of authentic Japanese humour and flair to his narrative and documentary work, offering a unique and polished take on any script he directs.
